The Artist: Alana Louise (Austin, TX)
Alana Louise is an independent commercial artist based in Austin, Texas. With a specialization in illustration and branding, her work is heavily inspired by her love of the outdoors, specifically her love of fly fishing. A member of Trout Unlimited, she is very involved in her local fly fishing community and told Dribble in a 2019 interview, "I can’t ignore the fact that I am on some sort of body of water, fishing, at least once a week, and something that I truly love is how all streams flow towards a larger body of water. There’s something symbolic and relatable about that."
With over 10 years of experience, Alana's beautiful, natural-inspired designs and typography have graced a wide range of brands including Lee Jeans, Pabst Blue Ribbon, YETI, Google, Patagonia, and many others. Her detailed, colorful work lends itself to brands (like ours) that encourage enjoyment and conservation of natural landscapes - and we're honored to have finally gotten a chance to work with her on this beautiful bandana!
The Design: "Debaucherous"
Alana's take on the "Festival" theme centers on the multiple forms of mischief (and sometimes animal-like instincts) that festivals tend to bring out in us. With a nod to the many mind-altering indulgences festival-goers often partake in, her design tells the story of the fun, curiosity, and hazy memories that come along with becoming a seasoned Festival vet.
Citing inspiration from concert posters and psychedelic artwork from the 60's and 70's, Alana's bold bandana design is sure to stand out in any festival crowd (or where ever your mind-expanding journey takes you)!
