Kathy has been an incredible client of ours since 2019. Our stylist Uri, has helped her transition her hair to a darker brown to the beautiful healthy blonde she has today. Her story is very inspiring, and we wanted to share it in this weeks client spotlight. Enjoy her interview below.
Kathy Tiedtke (pronounced Teed-Ka)
What are you known for in the Denver community? I am a Virtual Assistant (VA) for fashion entrepreneurs.
What inspired you to get into your passion? My childhood struggles and experiences have become my purpose and reason for becoming a VA. I have chosen to overcome my battle with self-doubt and have since decided to emphasize trusting myself. In doing so, I want to help other female entrepreneurs succeed in their businesses like I want to achieve in mine. I want to lift, encourage, and empower others to pursue their dreams because I know what it feels like to have what seemed like the world against me. I understand the feeling of being lost and alone in this entrepreneurial journey. Therefore, my goal is to help other female entrepreneurs live successful and fulfilling lives with their businesses.
What advice do you wish you could give your younger self? I wish I could tell myself: “No matter what, be true to yourself and pursue every dream you have. Don’t listen to what other people think or say about you. You are enough.”
What kind of impact are you hoping to make in our world? I hope that I can encourage more fashion brands to work towards a more sustainable future consistently. If we all start setting small goals (like using fully biodegradable garment bags), this can help lead us to further research & development for more accessible and possible textile recycling.
What are your hobbies? I love to travel! Every country is on my bucket list, and I hope to be able to visit them all sooner than later! I also enjoy hiking, camping, trying new restaurants, and cuddling on the couch with my husband, dog, and two cats.
What are your favorite forms of self care? I do my best to squeeze in a facial and massage every month. I also enjoy seeing Uri at the salon every 6-8 weeks! In addition, I have started to work out consistently again and believe this is the absolute best form of self-care.
Where are you from? I am a first-generation immigrant born and raised in Long Beach, CA, and my parents are from Vietnam.
What is one of the greatest lessons you’ve learned in life? My most significant lessons learned in life are to be more forgiving and empathetic towards others and myself. The emotions people show aren’t always their own, but they are a melting pot of what was projected on them and the hurt they’ve experienced in their lives. We can make the world a better place by simply being more self-aware and kind towards each other.
